4 Things Parents Think Matter In Kids Football (but don’t…)
t’s easy to think certain things in football tell you everything about a child’s development.
Things like:
Being the best player early
Winning games
Hearing constant instructions
Being picked for the “top group”
But none of those guarantee anything long term.
Being the best at 7 doesn’t mean they’ll stay ahead.
Winning every week doesn’t mean a child is actually improving.
Constant instructions isn’t the best way to help kids learn or make decisions.
And not being in the “top group” early doesn’t mean football isn’t for them (or that they won’t get there eventually).
Development isn’t as straightforward as it looks from the sidelines.
A lot of what gets judged early on doesn’t end up mattering as much as people think.
There are more parents thinking this than you realise.
