An amazing trip to play against Leeds United Academy

This week some of our u7’s & u8’s were asked to go up to Thorpe Arch to play some 5v5 against the Academy teams.

We all had 2 brilliant nights.

So refreshing to be with coaches who do the right things in terms of just letting the kids play.

Limited interruptions, no set positions, no coaching (joy-sticking) from the side…just encouraging, guiding, questioning and praising.

Exactly how it should be done to help kids learn.

As most know, we aren’t a team so when we get asked to do these sorts of things we put players together who might not even know each other let alone have played together.

We simply ask them to try as hard as they can, try to make the right decisions and go get involved/express themselves.

We could not have asked for any more from them in terms of how they conducted themselves. They did not stop running for each other!

Very very proud of each and every one of you for how hard you worked for each other.
