Comparison is the thief of joy…

Especially when it comes to parents comparing their child to others.

Social media makes it even harder to not fall into the comparison trap.

We’ve seen parents get so anxious:

‘They aren’t as good as the others’

‘They don’t seem as into it as the others’

So what?

Is your child enjoying it?

Do they have a smile on their face?

Start with that and the development, improvement etc will follow.

Every child is at different stages of their journey.

Comparing your child to someone else’s is doing nothing except robbing you of the happiness you should be feeling at simply seeing them enjoying playing football (or whatever sport it may be).

Some kids will be a better player than yours.

Some will be play in the ‘A’ team.

Some will be scouted and go to academies.

Some will get into the school team.

Who cares?

If you’re raising a child who enjoys being active, is a happy person and generally just a nice kid…

You’ve got absolutely no need to ever compare them to anyone else 👊

Like how we think about kids' football?
