Ex Foot-Tech Member Cam signs for Barnsley

Great news last week when we heard our former member, Cameron Kobeissi, has signed for Barnsley Academy

This could not have happened to a nicer lad.

Cam spent just over 3 years with us when he first started playing football and was a very popular player amongst our coaches.

He is another example of a young player who’s parents simply allowed him to fall in love with football without any unnecessary pressure.

And yet more proof that you don’t need to be in an academy at 6 years old to have any chance of getting to one in the future.

Cam didn’t even play for a formal grassroots team until well into Primary School!

He therefore wasn’t exposed to things like being put into 1 position too early and was able to take risks on the ball without fear of being told off.

He developed a great ability to dribble and beat players – very much in a street-style way.

As a result, he played with freedom and had a lot of creativity which has helped him progress to where he is now.

Very proud of you, Cam. We look forward to seeing how things go from here.
