February Session Theme – Losing Your Marker

A new month means a new monthly theme for our members but these vids are also perfect for other coaches to use & adapt

This is all about losing your marker to create space to receive the ball.A really important thing for any young footballer to learn.

Teaching children to receive a ball whilst been marked by a defender is quite common (and really useful) but football is all about space.

We need to make space, use space and penetrate space.

Very often this is overlooked but giving children the opportunity to understand it for themselves will really help their overall play.

Things like this are a much better way of getting them to understand the importance of space and how it can make things easier for them as opposed to looking on puzzled when their coach is screaming ‘FIND SPACE’
