Foot-Tech Alongside Grassroots Training
A record number of players have come back to us since the start of the year…
Number 1 reason why?
They stopped seeing an improvement in their football.
We have lots of players join us so they can get the best start to football.
Learn the things that actually make a difference and get the right football education both physically and mentally.
They improve to the point where they are confident and more than good enough to join a team.
Number 1 reason why people leave Foot-Tech?
They’ve got into a team (which makes us feel very proud, by the way)
But this is where the problems can start…
Parents are forgiven for thinking that their child will continue improving once they’re in a team.
Some do but it’s not always the case (as proven by the amount of players coming back to us recently).
Why?
We’re a football school. This is 100% of what we do morning, noon and night.
When we’re not coaching we’re working out ways to improve our coaching.
We put 100’s of hours in every week to get better at our trade.
But many teams need to be run by volunteers who have a million-and-one other things going on in their lives.
These people give up their time to put on a training session and organise matches but they’ve also got so much more going on. Football coaching isn’t their job.
We see some good improvements with players who can combine the two.
They get the team-style training but then the benefits of the more individual approach with us.
Plus, they should see some sort of improvement simply because they are training more than once a week (which is what those kids who are improving will be doing).
Being in a team can be amazing. Some of our best memories as kids come from junior football.
But one of the funnest parts of playing grassroots football is developing/getting better.
Kids play to improve and if that starts to go backwards you’ll quickly see them lose interest.
No one likes to see their mates improve loads whilst your child is stuck wondering why they are struggling.
Logistically, it isn’t easy for parents with juggling activities (as parents ourselves we feel for your pain!)
Our aim is to keep children in football for as long as possible and part of that is helping parents by giving them as many options as possible for more high-quality training.
It’s why we’ve increased the number of sessions we now have available on a weekly basis so players can hopefully stay with us regardless of what other football they do.
If you feel your child isn’t improving and want to help them, drop us a message to talk about what we have available specific to your child’s age and ability.
