Having qualifications doesn’t make you a good football coach….
If there’s something that annoys it’s when a ‘coach’…
Shatters a child’s confidence with their words because they don’t know how to speak to kids.
Or tells a child they are [insert a football position] at a young age because it’s easier for them to coach that way and focus on winning.
Or has 9 year olds doing press-ups or burpees because they think that is what proper football training looks like.
Or has children in lines waiting 10 mins to touch the ball once before joining the back and repeating.
The list could go on but we see and hear things time and time again that genuinely leave us with our heads in hands.
Just because someone has an FA Level 1 or any other qualifications it does not make them a coach.
It especially doesn’t make them a good coach.
It simply means that are ALLOWED to call themselves a coach.
Don’t be disheartened if you’re in a position where someone who does any of the above has said something negative about your child, subs them all the time or generally doesn’t seek to improve them.
The issue is not your child.
The issue is these people can call themselves a coach but they don’t really know how to do it properly.
Who can relate to this??
