In early junior football the focus needs to be on development and improving

Kids make football competitive enough without us grown-ups adding to the pressure.

Kids need to learn to win and lose – no one is saying we shouldn’t have winners and losers.

The issue is when adults make it ALL about winning over anything else.

Plenty of development can still happen during the losses.

And there’s plenty of winning teams with players who aren’t actually developing.

Score-lines can be deceiving.

Is your child getting good coaching?

Are they improving?

Are they enjoying themselves?

Let that be the focus for you.

The kids can be the ones who beat themselves up or get excited over score-lines – they don’t need us for that ⚽️
