What Young Players Want….

Young players really aren’t that hard to please when it comes to football.

Some coaches just overcomplicate it or coach the way they were coached years ago.

Why run laps for the first 5-10 of mins of training when you could do ball work or a free-play match?

Why give a chid a set position at a young age instead of creating players who can play anywhere?

Why tell them what to do every time they get the ball when the best way to learn is for them to learn from trying things themselves?

Why are they being told to boot the ball as far as they can instead of teaching them to make better decisions?

Why are they been put in nice neat lines to run drills when we all know that isn’t how football is played?

Why are they running around cones for so much of the session when we all know cones can’t tackle? Parents, know the difference between a good, bad and average learning environment for your child’s football.

You have the right to question things if some of the above is happening. Just do it in the right way.

Like how we think about kids' football?
